At the end of June 2026, Geoffroy Dieu and Raphaël Mirgaux took over ownership of Liége-based food flavour manufacturing company Synaco.
Independent M&A and corporate finance advisory firm, Closing, supported MD Pascale Azzam with the transfer of Synaco, a company she has built with passion since the beginning.
Founded in 1983, the company specialises in creating, producing and distributing soft drink, spirits, and beer flavours and other derivative products for the agri-food sector. “It stands out for its expertise and reputation for the quality, natural flavours, in a local environment and on a human scale,” Closing said in a statement.
Raphaël takes over operational leadership of Synaco as CEO while Geoffroy focuses on the company’s long-term vision and development. “To our customers, partners and teams: thank you for your trust. What we are building together is only just beginning,” commented Raphaël and Geoffroy.
“This duo of buyers is not arriving in unfamiliar territory: they each have more than 20 years of experience in the flavour industry and in the management of industrial sites in the agri-food sector with leading Belgian and international players,” Closing stated.
Most recently, Raphaël worked as a plant manager for ready-meal manufacturer What’s Cooking, as well as COO for Viangro SA’s tasty food and supply chain division – both as a freelancer. Before that, he was the operations director at Père Olive for four years.
Geoffroy is the CEO of Probiotic Group and owner of RLD Consult. Prior to this, he was a general manager at AB-solutions for a brief period, after serving as Astel Medica’s operations manager for three and a half years.
The two worked alongside each other at Firmenich from 2007 to 2015, Geoffroy starting as a finance and administration manager and Raphaël as a manufacturing manager. They climbed the ranks together to general and operations managers.
“After having been colleagues in the flavour business for almost 15 years, Raphaël and Geoffroy are now meeting again to take over and develop Synaco together… We wish them and the entire Synaco team every success in this new phase,” the Closing statement concluded.
