Ways in which we receive personal data from you:
- Creating Your Account
- At certain parts of our websites, you need to register first. You must provide information about yourself and choose a username. With this information, we create an account for you, which you can log into with your chosen username and password.
- We use your name, address, company name, position, phone number, email address, gender, date of birth, and IP address for this purpose. We do this based on your consent to avoid you having to repeatedly enter your information and to easily reach out to you when necessary. You can update your account information whenever you wish.
- Subscribing to Membership
- If you take out a paid membership with us, we use your personal data to process this properly.
- We use your name, address, company name, phone number, billing address, email address, payment details, and IP address for this purpose. We need this information because of the contract we enter
into with you. We retain this information until the end of the membership and seven years thereafter (as required by law).
- Contact Form
- If you send us an email with a question, we will respond as soon as possible.
- We use your name, address, company name, phone number, and email address for this purpose. Sending such an email to us is considered consent for this use. We retain this information for one year thereafter to facilitate follow-up questions.
- Newsletter
- You can subscribe to one or more of our newsletters, which contain news, tips, and information about our products and services. You can unsubscribe from this subscription at any time. Each newsletter
contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also do this through your account. - Your email address is only added to the list of subscribers with your consent. We retain this data for up to three months after you unsubscribe.

- Registering for an (Online) Event
- By registering for one of the (online) events of M&A Community Belgium, we receive personal data from you. We use your name, address, company name, position, phone number, email address, gender, turnover, or dietary requirements if relevant or necessary for the registration of the event. We do this based on your consent. We retain this information for up to three years after you register to avoid you having to repeatedly enter all your data and to easily reach out to you when necessary. Additionally, we may invite you to future (online) events and offer you interesting deals on various products and services that M&A Community Belgium provides.
- Photos and possibly videos are taken during events. By participating in the event, you agree to the online posting of photos and/or videos.
- Participant lists containing names, positions, and companies are sent to participants and partners of the event. The partners involved are listed on the respective event website under the 'partners' section in the main menu. By registering, you agree to this distribution. If a webinar is sponsored by a partner, data (name, position, company, and email address) are shared with the relevant party.
- If you agree to have your badge scanned when entering a session at an event, you agree that the relevant party (session facilitator) receives the data (name, company, position, and email address) with which you are registered.
STATISTICS AND PROFILING
We keep statistics on the use of our websites, including individual data, to improve our websites, for example, to display only relevant information. We may combine personal data to learn more about you. Of course, we will always respect your privacy.
We use names, addresses, company names, phone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, click behavior, and visit behavior for this purpose. We have a legitimate interest in this. We retain this information for three months.
ADVERTISING
We would like to send you advertisements about offers and new products or services via email. You can object to these advertisements at any time. Each advertisement contains instructions on how to do so. Each email contains an unsubscribe link. These advertisements may be from us or from our partners.
