Sticomax from Staden in West Flanders takes over the Dutch company ViwateQ.
The specialist in the surface treatment of stainless steel (ViwateQ finishing) thus falls into the hands of a branch of the Belgian Van de Vyvere entrepreneurial family. De Tijd reports this.
It is the second acquisition of a Dutch company by Sticomax
Sticomax Holding was created in June 2023 after a strategic deal between Lode De Boe (the CEO) and investment fund Vybros Capital Partners, with the well-known Van de Vyvere entrepreneurial family as main investor.
The parent company includes three machine builders for the food industry, namely the Belgian Stumaco and Intocon and - since the takeover in September - the Dutch Romonta.
Earlier this year, Sticomax had already announced that all three companies under the holding company would from now on work exclusively with ViwateQ as surface processing technology for the stainless steel machines and structures they produce.
According to Sticomax, the acquisition fits "seamlessly into the company's sustainable strategy" to "optimally support companies in the food industry in striving for the highest standards in food safety".
ViwateQ will continue to operate independently within Sticomax. It is unknown whether the company's management will also transfer.
