Schoups rebrands as Scale, signalling a new chapter for the Belgian law firm

post-title

Belgian law firm Schoups has officially rebranded as Scale, marking the next stage in the evolution of one of the country's best-known independent law firms.

The name change took effect on 4 June 2026 and reflects what the firm describes as a broader transformation that has been taking place for several years. According to the firm, the decision was driven by both practical and strategic considerations. While the Schoups name was widely recognised in the Belgian market, it proved difficult to use consistently across the Dutch, French and English-speaking markets in which the firm increasingly operates. More importantly, the rebranding is intended to reflect the firm's future positioning, growth ambitions and evolving identity.

Although the name has changed, the firm emphasises that its core values remain the same. Expertise, client focus, collaboration and long-term relationships continue to form the foundation of the organisation.

Over the years, the firm has been involved in numerous Belgian mid-market transactions and has developed a reputation for combining technical legal expertise with a pragmatic, business-oriented approach. Recent examples highlighted by the firm include advising on restructurings, acquisitions and complex organisational mergers.

The new name, Scale, was chosen because it retains a connection to the firm's heritage while expressing several core elements of its strategy. The firm associates the name with growth, strategic strength, personalised service, balance and professionalism. The rebranding was formally unveiled during a dedicated reveal event attended by clients, partners and employees.
