Game Mania is not making a restart in the Netherlands. Curator Marjolein Oonk-Pallandt reports this to trade news website RetailTrends.
The originally Belgian game store chain went bankrupt at the beginning of September. The ANP news agency reported later that month that 35 interested parties had registered for a possible restart, but according to the curator, this is different. There were only parties interested in the assets, i.e. the stocks and inventory. "Nobody has come forward for a restart."
Ultimately, 9 parties submitted a bid for the supplies and inventory. "These offers have been carefully examined and discussed with the bank, the Belgian curator and the supervisory judge. We are in the final phase of deciding to whom the assets will be sold."
