Marktlink Capital expands into Belgium with appointment of Vincent Germyns

Dutch investment firm Marktlink Capital is preparing to enter the Belgian market and has appointed Belgian executive Vincent Germyns as partner to lead the expansion.

Germyns previously spent two decades heading BinckBank and later Saxo Bank, where he oversaw international growth across Europe.

Marktlink Capital specializes in private equity and venture capital for entrepreneurs and wealthy families. Since its launch five years ago, the firm has raised over 2.8 billion euros, including 520 million euros in its most recent Dutch funds.

The company invests through fund-of-funds and feeder funds, making previously institutional-only opportunities accessible to private investors.

According to managing partner Bouke Marsman, Belgium offers strong potential: “Investing in non-listed companies is increasingly attractive for entrepreneurs and family offices, especially now that real estate yields are lower and stock markets remain volatile.”

Germyns adds that Belgium’s large number of family offices and entrepreneurial base create a promising market: “Private equity and venture capital are still underrepresented in Belgium, and we want to change that.”
