Jurimesh, the Ghent-based tech company for legal due diligence, announced today that Maurits Arnauw has joined the company as Head of M&A and Legal Innovation.
The appointment, effective 9 March 2026, brings deep transactional expertise in-house as Jurimesh accelerates product development and expands its footprint across European M&A markets.
Arnauw joins from Liedekerke, one of Belgium’s largest and leading independent law firms, where he spent more than eight years specialising in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and private equity transactions. During his time at Liedekerke, he advised a wide range of national and international investors and corporate clients on matters including share deals, asset deals, joint ventures, and complex corporate reorganisations.
Beyond transaction work, Arnauw developed a keen interest in legal innovation. He led legal innovation initiatives at Liedekerke by founding its internal legal think tank, where he organised tech seminars and assessed business cases for legal technology vendors.
The hire marks a strategic step for Jurimesh as the company deepens its in-house legal expertise to further refine its AI-powered due diligence platform. Having an experienced M&A lawyer on the team will allow Jurimesh to more precisely calibrate its technology to real-world transaction workflows, sharpen its go-to-market messaging, and strengthen the legal substance underpinning the product.
“We’ve always built Jurimesh in close collaboration with M&A practitioners, and having someone of Maurits’ calibre in-house takes that approach to the next level”, said Jorrit Willaert, co-founder and CEO of Jurimesh. “He has firsthand experience of the pain points our platform solves. That experience will add depth to both our product workflows and our conversations with law firms and other players in the M&A industry.”
“The legal industry is on the verge of a real paradigm shift. Clients increasingly demand better value for money and faster turnaround times, and the appetite for AI-driven efficiency is growing across the board”, said Arnauw. “This combination creates fertile ground for innovation and the adoption of legal tech tools. Having worked on many due diligence processes and experienced transaction lifecycles from various angles, including lead and local counsel mandates and on both the buy and sell side, I am convinced that significant efficiency gains can be realised by seamlessly integrating point solutions into transaction workflows. I am excited to leverage these perspectives and help build a product that genuinely improves and facilitates M&A transactions.”
