Belgian Geert Desmedt will lead Euroclear

New CEO for Euroclear ESES (France, Belgium and the Netherlands).

Euroclear's ESES CSDs (Euroclear France, Euroclear Belgium and Euroclear Netherlands) appoint Geert Desmedt as Chief Executive Officer.

With more than 25 years of experience within the Euroclear group, Geert Desmedt brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. He has held several senior positions, including Head of Operational Risk and Head of Operations and Client Service Asia. Until today, he was Co-CEO of the fund platform MFEX, which was acquired by Euroclear in 2021. In this role, he was instrumental in the integration of MFEX into the Euroclear FundsPlace platform.

Geert Desmedt succeeds Guillaume Eliet who headed ESES since 2021 and will now take on the role of Chief Risk Officer of the Euroclear group.
