WorxInvest has officially launched its fund of funds through its subsidiary WorxInvest Horizon.
The fund of funds, the first for WorxInvest, is named WorxInvest Horizon I and is set to expand with several diversified private equity funds. At its first closing, WorxInvest Horizon I raised more than 100 million euros.
The initiative falls under the alternative investments business unit at WorxInvest and contributes to the further diversification of its portfolio. Within the fund of funds, the underlying funds will be diversified, both geographically (with companies from Europe and North America), and in terms of the industries in which the companies operate.
The fund focuses on buyouts and growth capital funds, with a focus on small and medium-sized companies. Currently, WorxInvest already subscribed to five private equity funds: Alpine, Apheon, Inflexion, Main Capital and Verdane. These investments give an initial idea of the type of fund investments being pursued.
It is important to note that the fund of funds meets the Article 8 classification ('light green') according to the requirements imposed by the European Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. This means that the investments within the fund promote positive environmental and/or social characteristics and that the companies invested in also have good governance.
“The importance of carefully building the portfolio cannot be overstated”, says Mireille Kielemoes, Manager of WorxInvest Horizon. “The investment team's network, built up over many years, and their in-depth knowledge of the private equity sector are fully utilized with a view to securing excellent returns.”
WorxInvest Horizon I can still admit additional investors into the fund until the end of December 2024.
WorxInvest Horizon I was assisted by Argo Law as its legal advisor.
