AI-native M&A law firm Duely raises 1.1 million euros

Belgian startup Duely has secured €1.1 million in fresh funding to scale its M&A legal services.

The round drew investment from Scalefund, Golden Egg Check and ML6, alongside a group of experienced business angels from the technology and M&A sectors in Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Founded by Michiel Van Lerbeirghe and Michiel De Koninck, Duely positions itself as an AI-native Legal Service Provider focused on mergers and acquisitions. Unlike traditional legal-technology companies that sell software tools to law firms, Duely uses its proprietary AI to deliver legal services directly to clients and takes responsibility for the output.

The company describes its model as "a legal services firm built like a technology company," and believes this new category of professional service providers will become one of the next major developments in the legal and advisory market.

Duely originally launched as an API-first technology company, building AI functionality for virtual data rooms (VDRs), the platforms commonly used to manage documentation during M&A deals. One of its largest clients remains Sterling Technology, a provider involved in approximately 2 percent of global M&A transactions.

In early 2026, Duely expanded beyond software and moved into M&A legal services directly, using its AI technology to deliver legal work on transactions. Since that transition, Duely has regularly worked with clients including CorporateWise, TransPerfect, ML6 and FincoEnergies.

The new capital will be used to grow its legal services offering, deepen its underlying technology and strengthen its position as a leading AI-native M&A legal provider in Europe.

The angel investors include Louis Vercruysse, Vincent Dutordoir, Philippe Vanhoef, Bart Baute, Bartel Van Herreweghe and Wouter Van Assche.

With the funding secured, Duely aims to capitalise on the growing demand for AI-native professional services and establish itself as one of Europe's leading M&A legal providers.
