Only one possible investor came forward, but no agreement was reached with Audi.
The future of the Audi Brussels plant in Vorst remains uncertain, as no agreement has been reached with a potential buyer.
After reaching out to 26 potential investors, only one showed serious interest, but negotiations with Audi failed, according to union representatives following a special works council meeting.
The remaining candidate was reportedly willing to take on half of the plant’s workforce, but only if Audi AG, the German parent company, would cover restructuring costs for the next eight years. Audi AG declined these conditions, leaving the deal at a standstill.
Audi Brussels spokesperson Peter D’hoore confirmed the lack of a buyer, stating that the company had thoroughly examined potential proposals, especially in terms of job preservation. Unfortunately, no investor has presented a long-term solution for employment at the site.
