The desperately ailing French IT group Atos will decide this week who can take over.
These are crucial days for the IT group Atos. The company is on the verge of collapse due to its high debt burden. There were crisis talks all weekend with a view to saving the listed group.
There are two candidates for salvation. The first is Atos shareholder Onepoint of French businessman David Layani in combination with French financier Walter Butler and Brussels-listed IT group Econocom. The other party is the Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky, who recently acquired the British Bpost counterpart Royal Mail.
The decision is expected this week.
