Dealmakers set the tone for the new season of M&A: dedication

post-title

Belgium’s dealmaking community reconnected on 27 August 2026 for the fifth edition of the M&A Summer Party, reinforcing important industry relationships.

Despite warnings of bad weather and the Bois de la Cambre closing, nearly 200 of the 300 dealmakers who registered for the M&A Summer Party 2026 still made it out to Chalet Robinson for what turned out to be a very lovely evening. With only partly cloudy skies, a warm breeze and the trees in full foliage, it served as the perfect end to a much-needed break for Belgium’s M&A community.

The event kicked off with an informal peer consultation session, led by Karen de Boeck and Jürgen Maus from Green Elephants. These sessions provide a safe space for dealmakers to discuss their day-to-day challenges and are a staple start of every Young M&A member event. Yesterday, the conversation highlighted that while professionals across the industry face similar hurdles, different roles, companies and backgrounds bring fresh, varied perspectives to the table, giving them the confidence boost to continue networking with their senior peers.

From 6 PM, dealmakers were ferried across the lake to the private island, where their peers and the smell of food cooking over fire welcomed them. Attendees took full advantage of the casual atmosphere, swapping holiday stories and their ambitions for the new season.

Dealmakers also shared perspectives on Belgium’s M&A market, gauging expectations and insights for the months ahead.

The evening’s engagements – made possible by principal sponsor Ansarada – are a defining character of Belgian business culture; taking the time to slow down and genuinely invest in relationships. Whether strengthening ties with long-standing partners, meeting prospective clients, or working with industry peers, success hinges on taking the time to build trust through mutual understanding and respect.

As the last ferry boats made their way back across the lake under the night sky, dealmakers returned refreshed, reconnected and ready for the work ahead.
