The Belgian Competition Authority approves the acquisition of Van den Broeck by the Pautric group.
On March 29, 2024, the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA) approved the concentration whereby the Pautric group, through its subsidiary Pautric Invest, acquires sole control over the Van den Broeck company.
The parties are active in the automotive distribution and related services sector.
The concentration was notified on March 20, 2024 and application of the simplified procedure was requested. The Pautric group operates a car concession in the provinces of West Flanders, Flemish Brabant and in the Brussels Capital Region. The Pautric group sells new and second-hand passenger cars from the BMW and MINI brands and offers related after-sales services.
In addition to its activities as a car concessionaire, the group also sells spare parts for the cars of the brands it distributes and offers bodywork repair services. The Van den Broeck company operates a car concession in the province of Flemish Brabant. Van den Broeck sells new and second-hand BMWs and offers related after-sales services. Van den Broeck also distributes spare parts for BMW vehicles.
The parties' activities overlap in the markets for the sale of new and second-hand passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, maintenance and repair services for these same types of vehicles, and the distribution of spare parts for these cars.
In its decision of March 29, 2024, the BMA determines that the conditions for the application of the simplified procedure are met and that the notified concentration does not give rise to any objections.
