Vectis Private Equity backs Building Technology add-on acquisition

Following the launch of an €85 million fund earlier this year, through which Vectis Private Equity aims to support healthy mid-cap businesses as they pursue their next growth leap, one of its portfolio companies, Building Technology, has decided to seize the opportunity with the acquisition of Lauryssen.

For Vectis Private Equity’s investment manager, Pierre Van Nuwenborg – who has worked alongside the Building Technology management team for the last two years – seeing Luc Ost, Marc Van Opstal and Alain Grillaert’s ambition turn into reality, step-by-step, is what makes the PE journey so rewarding.

On that note, he emphasises that the most valuable part of the deal is how it happened: “entrepreneurs choosing to join because they share the same vision”.

Building Technology launched in 2021 in partnership with Vectis Private Equity and has become a major player in the Belgian installations market by investing in innovation, digitalisation and multidisciplinary project delivery. This partnership has brought together companies including ETI Vandenven, Siegers Technics, Clima & Partners, Entek, Failsafe, Watchguard Security, Cobra Technology, as well as Vrints (in February 2026).

Lauryssen is also no stranger to the value of strategic add-ons and integrations, having previously acquired Douchobad in Herentals – which was transformed into Lauryssen Herentals in 2013. Eight years later, Lauryssen Herentals merged with Jos Lauryssen bv, and the activities moved to a new warehouse building in Grobbendonk.

After Jos’s unexpected passing in 2012, Jan Lauryssen took over leadership of the group. Under his management, Lauryssen’s various companies are being further developed with respect for the family’s original values and a clear focus on continuity, innovation and sustainable growth.

As part of this, the group introduced the Lauryssen Studio this year (2026), a new concept space in Grobbendonk that showcases and offers comprehensive solutions for sanitary installations, heating (HVAC), ventilation, and sustainable energy systems.

“For our clients, [the addition of Lauryssen] means stronger HVAC and roofing capabilities, further reinforcing our integrated service offering across all technical disciplines,” Pierre points out. Since its founding in 2004, Vectis has invested in around 40 platform companies, including the VD Pro Group in March 2025, and completed more than 50 add-on acquisitions.

A one-stop-shop for building technology
Lauryssen CEO Kathleen Van Dijck’s believes in the power of the company’s craftsmanship, down-to-earth culture, and the same shared ambition. “Our culture is 100% Lauthentic – reliable, professional and close to our customers – and we are proud of that!” she says.

“Our integration into Building Technology Group marks the beginning of a new chapter,” Kathleen adds. With the addition of Lauryssen’s 120 specialised employees, Building Technology now counts more than 380 professionals. Lauryssen retains its identity and expertise while gaining access to Building Technology’s knowledge, resources, and economies of scale.

“This partnership allows us to combine the flexibility, service and unique family-oriented DNA that make Lauryssen so strong, with the operational reach of a large group,” Kathleen explains.

Together, Lauryssen and Building Technology are endeavouring to build a one-stop shop for the building technologies of tomorrow.
