Waterland invests in TG Groep

Belgian packaging machinery specialist TG Group has announced a strategic partnership with private equity firm Waterland to accelerate its international growth and innovation.

The collaboration marks a new chapter in the company’s impressive evolution from a one-man service business to a globally recognized technology developer.

Founded in 2006 in Beveren by Tom Vermonden as TG-Technics, the company initially focused on maintenance and repairs of packaging machines. Over the years, it expanded its services to include machine rentals and agency work, and ultimately began designing and manufacturing its own high-end packaging and feeding systems.

Today, TG Group operates internationally, with additional sites in Hoogstraten following acquisitions in 2022.

Waterland’s investment will support TG Group in scaling up production, advancing technological capabilities, and exploring future acquisitions. “We’ve built a strong foundation, both in management and digitalization”, says Vermonden. “Our passionate team and global partnerships have brought us to the top of our industry. With Waterland, we gain a partner who shares our vision and long-term goals.”

TG Group is seen as a frontrunner in European packaging innovation, especially in flow-pack and X-fold technologies. Its flagship CM90 machine is considered the most advanced X-fold packaging system for round products like rice cakes and biscuits, widely adopted by global food companies.

With over 95 percent of its revenue coming from exports to markets including the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, TG Group is positioning itself as a high-tech ambassador for Flanders.

“Every year we create new machine designs to meet our customers’ challenges”, Vermonden adds. “With Waterland’s support, we aim to strengthen our role as a global benchmark in innovation, ambition, and potential.”
