Belgian orthopedic specialists Vigo and Matton OrthoMedi have announced a strategic merger under the international Ottobock Group.
As of May 5, 2025, Vigo has acquired Matton OrthoMedi, combining their strengths to enhance patient care and expand their reach across Belgium.
Both companies will continue to operate independently while benefiting from shared knowledge and innovation. Vigo and Matton OrthoMedi are leading players in the field of technical orthopedics, prioritizing high-quality care and patient well-being.
With over 30 years of experience, Matton OrthoMedi brings additional expertise and a team of 68 professionals across locations in Ghent, Bruges, and Brussels. The merger is set to broaden the range of orthopedic and mobility solutions available to patients, while also improving access through a larger network of clinics.
Willy Matton, General Manager of Matton OrthoMedi, called the move “a real milestone” and emphasizes the opportunities it creates to better meet client needs. Michiel Meerbergen, CEO of Vigo, added that the partnership will allow both organizations to further streamline care and reach patients more effectively.
