Belgian IT services provider VanRoey has announced the strategic acquisition of Group K, a rapidly growing IT integrator based in Limburg.
The move strengthens VanRoey’s position in the region and enhances its capabilities in cybersecurity, cloud, and connectivity – especially for public institutions and large enterprises.
Group K, founded in 2021 by Frank and Theo Keunen and co-led by Stephan Krug, has built a strong reputation in the higher-end IT market with clients such as Provincie Limburg, Group Machiels, VVSG, ArcelorMittal, and Neuhaus.
The company has 30 employees and serves around 200 clients, with a particular focus on public contracts and large-scale IT infrastructure projects.
VanRoey CEO Joachim Lauwers calls the deal a natural fit within the company’s growth strategy: “With Group K, we’re adding a complementary player to strengthen our expertise in managed security and reinforce our presence in the upper market segment, particularly in the public sector.”
The acquisition aligns with VanRoey’s ambition to become Flanders' leading managed ICT provider. Since investment firm Fortino Capital joined in 2022, VanRoey has been pursuing a combination of organic growth and targeted acquisitions. This latest move brings the company’s headcount to 250 employees, with a projected revenue of over 70 million euros by the end of 2025.
All Group K staff will remain on board, and the existing management structure will be preserved. The partnership will give Group K’s clients access to VanRoey’s broader portfolio, including Microsoft-based application solutions and a wide range of managed services.
In return, VanRoey gains Group K’s specialized knowledge in handling complex public sector projects, such as a large IT framework agreement with Catholic Education Flanders and a cybersecurity project for SMEs funded by VLAIO.
Frank Keunen, CEO of Group K, highlights the shared values between the two companies: “Like VanRoey, we focus on knowledge-driven service with a personal touch and long-term partnerships. Our clients will immediately benefit from this strengthened alliance.”
The acquisition marks a major step forward in VanRoey’s mission to become a one-stop partner for complex IT environments across Flanders, with more acquisitions expected in the near future.
