Vandemoortele, a leading European food group, has acquired Italian frozen bakery specialist Lizzi srl from Forno d’Asolo SpA.

This move strengthens Vandemoortele’s presence in Italy and follows its acquisition of Dolciaria Acquaviva in June 2024.

Lizzi, known for its premium sweet and savory pastries, bread, pizza, and focaccia, operates four production plants in Northern Italy and employs over 240 people.

With annual revenues exceeding 70 million euros, the company distributes its products across both restaurants and large-scale retail sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome Lizzi into the Vandemoortele family”, said CEO Yvon Guerin, emphasizing the company’s commitment to offering high-quality products. Managing Director Peter Boone added that the acquisition would expand their range of specialty pastries, breads, and pizza across Italy.

The deal is expected to close in the coming weeks. Financial details were not disclosed.
