Dumarey Group acquires MAHLE Powertrain USA to boost engineering services in U.S. market.
Belgian propulsion systems leader Dumarey Group has announced the acquisition of MAHLE Powertrain LLC (MPT USA), the American branch of MAHLE Powertrain.
This strategic move, finalized through a purchase agreement in late 2024, is part of Dumarey’s efforts to strengthen its engineering services and expand its presence in the U.S., a key market for low- and zero-carbon engine technologies. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025.
MPT USA specializes in engineering, development, and testing services for global automotive manufacturers. The acquisition will allow Dumarey Group to establish a stronger local footprint, expand its U.S. customer base, and deliver tailored on-site solutions. The company also aims to leverage the acquisition to grow sales of its product portfolio, including injectors, electronic control units, and aftertreatment systems.
MPT USA, which employs about 70 people and operates several testing facilities, will be integrated into Dumarey Automotive Italia, a division of Dumarey Group specializing in advanced engineering services.
The U.S. market for engineering services offers strong growth potential, driven by advancements in emission reduction technologies and a continued reliance on internal combustion engines in key segments like pickups. Dumarey Group plans to invest in both U.S. and European operations to enhance testing capabilities and foster innovation.
