Eurofiber expands further in Belgium through acquisition of Arcadiz.
Eurofiber, a Dutch data center company, is acquiring Arcadiz, a Belgian network company. The company operates in the Benelux region and provides high-quality, tailor-made connectivity services to major clients in both the profit and non-profit sectors, including large enterprises, governments, and utility companies.
Arcadiz, headquartered in Leuven, employs 38 people.
Arcadiz had already been using Eurofiber's infrastructure for some time. Now, the two Leuven-based owners are selling their business. The Dutch buyer has acquired eight data centers in the Netherlands and three in France through previous acquisitions. In addition to data centers, Eurofiber manages 72,500 kilometers of fiber optic infrastructure across the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Germany.
Five years ago, pension fund PGGM acquired a minority stake in Eurofiber, reportedly 22.5 percent. At that time, Eurofiber's value was estimated at 2.8 billion euros. Additionally, the French investment firm Antin Infrastructure Partners is a shareholder.
The completion of the Arcadiz acquisition is subject to standard regulatory approvals in Belgium and is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2025. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
