Two Belgian investors back two Belgian battery storage projects with €22 million

TINC and Infravest invest in BSTOR battery storage systems

TINC and Infravest, the strategic joint venture of Gimv, WorxInvest and Belfius, invest €11 million each in two large-scale battery energy storage systems in Belgium, developed by BSTOR.

This is TINC’s third investment in large-scale battery storage in the Benelux, marking another step in its strategy to support infrastructure that is essential for a reliable and future-proof power grid.

The previous two deals include a €61 million investment in Project Mufasa in the Netherlands, one of the largest battery storage projects in the European Union (2025), and €23 million in Storm BESS in Belgium (2026).

“By now, TINC has committed approximately €100 million to five battery storage projects in Belgium and the Netherlands, representing a combined capacity of 800 MW and 3,067 MWh,” shares CEO Manu Vandenbulcke.

In a recent report unpacking TINC’s record investment year, Chairman Philip Maeyaert emphasised the company’s long-term vision of aligning financial performance with societal needs.

Coming together to support society
The €22 million investment from TINC and Infravest will go towards two projects developed by BSTOR, a joint initiative of Greenstor (CFE and Ackermans & Van Haaren), Wallonie Entreprendre and BEWATT (Bruno Vanderschueren).

The first project, DSTOR (50 MW / 140 MWh) – developed in partnership with Duferco Wallonie – is located in La Louvière and has been operational since March 2026.

The second project, Estor-Lux II (100 MW / 270 MWh) – developed in partnership with two Walloon investment companies, SOPAER and SOCOFE, among others – is located in Aubange, soon to be energised, and expected to be fully operational in October 2026.

“We are pleased to partner with an experienced developer such as BSTOR,” says Manu.

BSTOR has already contributed significantly to the emergence of large-scale storage as strategic and reliable market- and grid-supporting infrastructure in Belgium. It has brought three projects to financial close, representing 160 MW / 430 MWh of installed storage capacity and a total investment of approximately €200 million.

“We are pleased to welcome TINC and Infravest as partners in these two battery storage projects,” comments BSTOR co-founder and MD, Cédric Legros. “Their investment underlines the strategic role of large-scale battery storage in supporting grid flexibility and security of supply.”

It won’t be the first time TINC partners with Infravest to support sustainable infrastructure, either. The two came together with international partners in November 2025 to invest €50 million in Interparking.

“This partnership brings together complementary expertise and long-term capital to support the continued deployment of energy storage infrastructure in Belgium,” adds Cédric.
