Belgian transport company Transport Roosens is expanding its container activities in the Antwerp region with the acquisition of Coupétrans. This move strengthens Roosens' position as a leading player in sea container transport.
Transport Roosens, led by Stephan Roosens and Karolien Van Duyse, previously acquired Thuysbaert (2016) and Van Gucht (2019). With the addition of Coupétrans, its container transport capacity increases to 90 tractors and 180 container chassis.
The company operates from logistics hubs on both the Left and Right Banks of the Antwerp port, transporting sea containers across the Benelux, Northern France, Germany, and other regions in Western Europe.
Acquisition in line with growth strategy
The acquisition aligns with Transport Roosens' strategy to strengthen its Antwerp roots by acquiring strong businesses. “Coupétrans, like us, is known for its flexibility and customer-oriented approach”, says Stephan Roosens. “We welcome their employees and fleet into the Roosens family.”
Founded in 1953, Coupétrans grew into a specialist in sea container transport. Guy Coupé, who successfully expanded the company, sought a suitable acquisition candidate through intermediary De Putter & Co. “I am pleased that Coupétrans is being taken over by a company that shares our values and approach. This ensures a smooth transition for our employees and customers”, says Coupé.
Future of the Coupé family
The Coupé family will continue focusing on storage and logistics services, with 24,000 m² of warehouses and 20,000 m² of outdoor storage in Rijkevorsel. Steven Coupé remains responsible for CBC Logistics BV.
