Tikehau Capital enters exclusive talks to acquire Belgian tech firm ScioTeq

Tikehau Capital, a global alternative asset manager, has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire ScioTeq, a Belgium-based leader in advanced display and computing solutions for high-demand environments such as avionics, defense, and air traffic control.

The acquisition will be made through Tikehau’s private equity aerospace and defense strategy, marking its first investment in the strategy’s second phase and 15th overall since its 2020 launch. This initiative aims to support small and mid-sized aerospace firms in scaling operations and embracing digital and sustainable transformation.

ScioTeq, founded in 1980, has built a global presence with operations in Belgium, France, the U.S., and offices in India and Singapore. Backed by OpenGate Capital since 2021, the company will see OpenGate retain a minority stake post-transaction.

With over 140 R&D professionals and a strong reputation for innovation, ScioTeq is well-positioned for continued international growth. Tikehau Capital, supported by J.P. Morgan financing, aims to enhance ScioTeq’s global reach and innovation capabilities in the evolving aerospace and defense landscape.
