The transition to mandatory e-invoicing in Belgium creates demand for accounting solutions.
Gent-based business software company Teamleader has expanded its offerings for freelancers and startups by acquiring Dexxter, a self-accounting app for sole traders, students, and side hustlers.
The move coincides with the launch of Teamleader One, a new application targeting small businesses.
“Belgium is a nation of small enterprises, and we’re proud to now serve every type of company, from startups to SMEs”, according to Teamleader CEO Jeroen De Wit.
Founded in 2021 by Robbe Claessens, Stan De Pauw, and Giel Thomas, Dexxter has grown to over 7,000 customers. “With Teamleader’s expertise, we see potential to accelerate our growth”, noted co-founder De Pauw. While Dexxter will become part of the Teamleader ecosystem, it will continue to operate independently from Mechelen under its original founders.
Teamleader aims to address challenges faced by freelancers and sole traders, who often struggle to find accountants due to increasing customer limits at accountancy firms. The transition to mandatory e-invoicing in Belgium by 2026 also highlights the growing need for accessible accounting solutions.
