Belgian logistics specialist Sitra Group has expanded its international presence with the acquisition of Dutch transport company Albert Keijzer Zaandam for an undisclosed amount.
Both Sitra and Albert Keijzer are family-owned businesses with a long history, now led by the third generation.
Rob de Visser, CEO of Albert Keijzer, emphasized the strong historical ties between the two companies and highlights the benefits of joining forces. "Continuity for our employees and customers is key, and Sitra provides the scale and expertise needed to remain competitive in a challenging market."
This acquisition follows Sitra’s previous takeovers of the UK-based Abbey Logistics Group in 2023 and Italy’s Ricotto Group in 2022.
With a fleet of 1,000 trucks and operations in 12 countries, Sitra aims to become a European leader in tank transport. The company currently generates 250 million euros in revenue, with a target of reaching 300 million euros by year-end and 500 million euros in the near future.
Sitra’s executive chairman, David Saelens, calls the acquisition a perfect strategic fit. "Keijzer is a renowned player in food logistics, and their expertise will strengthen our group. Our priority is ensuring continuity, so Keijzer’s leadership team will remain in place."
With this deal, Sitra continues its ambitious growth strategy, positioning itself as a dominant force in European logistics.
