Automotive group Groep Rutten, a leading Volvo distributor in Limburg, has announced the acquisition of Volvo Jacobs (owned by Jan Pulinx), marking its expansion into the Belgian cities of Genk and Dilsen-Stokkem.
This move brings the company’s total number of locations to seven, with CEO Kevin van Ryckeghem hinting at further growth plans for the group. What began as a family-run business specializing in Volvo has since diversified, now also offering brands like Lynk & Co and Polestar under the Rutten umbrella.
The acquisition aligns with both companies’ family-oriented roots, ensuring continuity for local teams. Jan Pulinx and his staff will remain in place, maintaining the familiar face of the Genk and Dilsen-Stokkem branches. Van Ryckeghem emphasized the shared values between Rutten and Jacobs, describing the deal as a natural fit. For customers, the transition will be seamless in the short term, as they will continue to interact with the same personnel, while benefiting from the added support of Rutten’s broader network.
Looking ahead, Groep Rutten aims to foster stronger connections between its locations, prioritizing customer satisfaction and employee pride. “Growth isn’t the goal—it’s the result of making the right choices,” Van Ryckeghem stated. The integration will proceed gradually, preserving the local practices that have already proven successful.
