QbD Group acquires SciencePharma, expanding regulatory expertise and global reach.
QbD Group, a global provider of solutions for life sciences organizations, has announced its acquisition of SciencePharma, a Polish regulatory consultancy firm.
The acquisition, expected to close by early 2025 following antitrust clearance, marks a significant step in QbD Group’s expansion, strengthening its presence in Eastern Europe and China while enhancing its global regulatory and quality capabilities.
A strategic partnership
SciencePharma, established in 2004, is a leader in pharmaceutical consulting with expertise in regulatory affairs, product development, and GMP/GDP compliance. With a team of 120 specialists, the company has completed over 820 medicinal product dossiers and supported numerous drug development projects.
Bart Van Acker, CEO of QbD Group, highlights the strategic value of the acquisition, stating: “This move is crucial to realizing our vision of expanding through strategic acquisitions. SciencePharma’s reputation and expertise align perfectly with our mission to provide comprehensive services across the life sciences industry.”
“Joining QbD Group is an exciting milestone”, adds Krzysztof Polkowski, CEO of SciencePharma. “The combined resources will strengthen our services and broaden our global reach, enabling us to make an even greater impact in the life sciences sector.”
Leadership transition
With the acquisition, SciencePharma’s current CEO, Krzysztof Polkowski, will step down in January 2025, with Monika Laskowska-Mirończuk assuming leadership. The companies assured clients and partners of continuity, emphasizing no immediate changes to operations during the antitrust clearance process.
Future integration
Once finalized, the acquisition will integrate SciencePharma into QbD Group’s growing global network, which spans over 750 consultants in regions including Europe, the US, and Latin America. This integration will enhance the group’s capacity to deliver seamless solutions in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and product lifecycle management.
The partnership promises a brighter future for both organizations and their clients, with Van Acker noting: “We’ll be better equipped to meet your needs with expanded resources and access to new markets.”
This acquisition underlines QbD Group’s commitment to advancing innovation and supporting the life sciences industry worldwide.
