Puratos has acquired Vör Foods, a fast-growing producer of clean-label nut pastes and nut-based fillings based in Trevose, Pennsylvania, as the Belgian group strengthens its manufacturing footprint and innovation capabilities in the United States.
The transaction is aimed at reinforcing Puratos’s position in sweet goods innovation, particularly in nut-based ingredients, one of the fastest-growing segments in the bakery and confectionery markets. By adding Vör Foods’ U.S.-based production capacity, Puratos expects to respond more quickly to emerging consumer trends, including rising demand for products such as Dubai-style chocolate, while reducing lead times through local manufacturing.
Vör Foods produces pistachio, hazelnut, almond, cashew and blended nut pastes and fillings, complementing Puratos’s existing nut filling portfolio. Its SQF-certified, dedicated nut facility and predominantly U.S.-sourced raw materials are expected to enhance traceability, operational efficiency and supply reliability for customers across the U.S. market.
Andy Brimacombe, President of Puratos North America, said Vör’s craftsmanship and speed make it a strong strategic fit. He highlighted the company’s rapid growth and customer-focused approach, adding that its expertise and nut-processing facility will strengthen Puratos’s ability to deliver high-quality, on-trend solutions.
Founded in 2016, Vör Foods has built its growth around close collaboration with customers and suppliers. Chief executive Frank Steck said joining Puratos represents “an exciting new chapter,” allowing the business to combine its nut expertise with Puratos’s global scale, capabilities and industry network.
Vör’s Trevose site, located around 35 minutes from Puratos USA, is expected to enable close technical collaboration between the teams and accelerate the exchange of best practices. As part of the integration, Puratos plans to invest in additional equipment and capacity at the facility to support further expansion and meet growing demand for clean-label nut solutions.
Pierre Tossut, CEO of the Puratos Group, said the acquisition marks an important step for the group globally, strengthening its nut-based expertise and enabling investment at scale in advanced capabilities, innovation and long-term value creation for customers across all markets.
