Pitchdrive closes oversubscribed 60 million euros Fund IV to back AI-native founders

post-title

Pitchdrive has announced the closing of its fourth fund at 60 million euros, reaffirming its commitment to the Co-founder Capital model.

Unlike many European funds of its size, Fund IV is entirely privately backed, with no government or institutional capital. The fund, which initially targeted 50 million euros, was oversubscribed within weeks, but Pitchdrive deliberately capped it at 60 million euros to maintain a focused, hands-on approach with its portfolio companies.

Since its launch in 2020, Pitchdrive has quietly established itself as one of Europe’s most active pre-seed investors, backing 70 startups across the continent. Its portfolio includes successful companies like Henchman (acquired by LexisNexis), Introw, and Heltia.

The firm’s selective approach – reviewing over 500 pitch decks monthly but investing in only a fraction – has placed it in the top 10 percent of global venture funds.

Recently, Pitchdrive expanded its reach beyond Europe, investing in New York-based AI compliance startup Zerodrift, underscoring its growing influence in the global AI-native ecosystem.

Fund IV will target 25–30 early-stage startups, focusing on companies built for the AI era. Pitchdrive’s investment thesis centers on businesses that either enable new categories through AI or fundamentally transform existing ones. This includes AI-native products, AI-enabled marketplaces, and software-defined physical companies.

The firm will avoid "AI for X" wrappers lacking defensible data or operational advantages, emphasizing instead companies where AI is core to their growth and scalability.

At the heart of Pitchdrive’s model is its Co-founder Capital approach, offering hands-on support, 24/7 availability, and a mentor network of over 20 European entrepreneurs and operators.

Led by experienced founders like Boris Bogaert, Wim Derkinderen, and Koen Christiaens, the firm provides practical guidance and strategic input, ensuring portfolio companies receive the kind of support the founders themselves wished they had when building their own ventures.
