Tessenderlo Group has announced that its business unit, Picanol Group, will acquire the activities of Osterwalder AG, a Swiss company renowned for its electric powder presses. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
With over 140 years of expertise, Osterwalder is a trusted supplier in the fields of hard metals, specialty materials, and iron powder. The company operates from Lyss, Switzerland, and maintains a global presence with sales and service teams in the U.S., China, and Japan. Osterwalder employs around 80 people and will continue to operate under its own name.
“The acquisition enhances Picanol Group’s offering of high-tech machinery and advanced industrial solutions,” said Miguel de Potter, CFO of Tessenderlo Group. “We are excited to welcome Osterwalder’s team and look forward to growing the company together.”

Tessenderlo Group stated that the transaction will not have a material financial impact on the company.
