PIA Group in Belgium purchases accounting application

PIA Group Belgium acquires Cashaca to make digital accounting more personal.

PIA Group, the fastest growing accountancy and consultancy group in Belgium and the Netherlands, has been the first in the sector to adopt an accounting application.

The Antwerp based Cashaca focuses on self-employed people and will be integrated into an extensive accounting service at PIA Group in Belgium. This acquisition and the growing number of local offices allow PIA Group to make accounting for self-employed people even more qualitative and personal.

In the search for a suitable tool to serve self-employed people even better, PIA Group in Belgium decided to acquire Cashaca and fully integrate it into their services. Cashaca offers an accounting application that allows self-employed people, even without any experience, to easily manage their own accounting.

The acquisition endorses PIA Group's vision to use technology without losing sight of the human factor.

The integration of Cashaca into PIA Group's services increases efficiency within the organization. This gives the employees of the local offices more time to concentrate on their core tasks in accountancy, advice and audit, while maintaining the customer-oriented focus that characterizes PIA Group.

“Many large companies once started as self-employed people”, says Steven Brouckaert, Chairman of PIA Group (photo). “We therefore regard self-employed people as an important part of the economy. As accountants and advisors, we have an important role to play in their further development. Our guidance and advice are an essential part of the success of these entrepreneurs, which is why PIA Group in Belgium has never said 'no' to self-employed people as customers. We believe that starters and sole proprietorships deserve guaranteed quality and are enthusiastic to offer this through the integration of Cashaca, linked to a personal PIA advisor.”

Cashaca founder Peter Loomans will remain on board after the takeover. He becomes a partner of PIA Group and takes up a strategic position within the digital expertise team. PIA Group aims to increase Cashaca's annual turnover fivefold in three years, underlining the growth objectives of the entire group. In 2019, PIA Group had a consolidated turnover of 25 million euros with 200 employees. By the end of 2024, the group, with 1,700 employees, is expected to achieve a consolidated turnover of more than 250 million euros.
