PIA Group, the international accountancy, advisory and audit group headquartered in Ghent, has started the year with five new acquisitions, further strengthening its footprint in Belgium and beyond. One of the newly added firms is DSM Consulting, based in Lier.
According to PIA founder Steven Brouckaert, the newly acquired firms are “top performers”, and will retain their own identity and way of working after joining the group.
PIA Group positions itself as a consolidator that preserves the entrepreneurial DNA of local offices, while supporting them with shared services and expertise.
DSM Consulting was founded by Yannick De Smedt, who started as a sole practitioner in 1994. The firm evolved into a company in 1999 and was joined by partner Charlotte Wouters in 2013. Today, DSM Consulting operates as a full-service advisory partner for entrepreneurs, with a strong focus on tax and legal advice.
PIA Group will primarily support DSM Consulting in areas such as recruitment, IT and regulatory compliance, enabling the firm to sustain growth while maintaining its personalised client approach.
In addition to DSM Consulting, PIA Group has acquired Accofisc and Warfid in Flanders, as well as PME Assistance/DCA/DTAX, operating from Grimbergen and Luxembourg City, and Fiduciaire Renson in the province of Liège. The group also reaffirmed its international growth ambitions and expects to announce further European acquisitions in the near future.
Founded in 1999, PIA Group is active in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, with nearly 150 offices and around 3,500 employees. The group reported revenues of 440 million euros in the Benelux in 2025.
