PIA Group, the fastest-growing accountancy and advisory group in the Netherlands and Belgium, has officially expanded into its third European market by acquiring Luxembourg-based advisory firm Neoviaq. This marks a significant step in PIA Group’s ongoing international growth strategy.
“Luxembourg is a major European financial hub and a vital crossroads for entrepreneurs”, said Steven Brouckaert, Executive Chairman of PIA Group International. “Establishing a presence here is a logical next move. We’re thrilled to do this with a quality firm like Neoviaq and are already eyeing further expansion beyond the Benelux.”
A strategic milestone
The integration of Neoviaq brings the total number of PIA Group brands to six, encompassing 100 offices. In 2024, the group reported consolidated revenues of 250 million euros, with ambitions to grow that figure to 400 million euros in 2025.
Founded in 1999 in Belgium, PIA Group entered the Dutch market in 2022. With Neoviaq’s addition, it becomes the first and only Belgian player in the accountancy sector to expand internationally under its own name.
One of PIA Group’s key differentiators is its respect for the identity and operational independence of its partner firms. “Our partners’ entrepreneurial spirit is central to their success. That’s why we maintain their DNA while providing support through centralized services like HR and IT”, Brouckaert explained.
Neoviaq: A cross-border powerhouse
Established in 1989, Neoviaq has grown into a respected advisory firm with locations in Luxembourg (Weiswampach, Luxembourg City, Pommerloch) and Belgium (Brussels, Eupen, Sankt Vith, and Malmedy). Its client base spans borders, and the firm is known for delivering expertise across Luxembourgish and Belgian legal frameworks.
“Joining PIA Group adds value for both our clients and theirs”, says Erwin Schröder, Neoviaq co-founder and partner. “Our deep knowledge on both sides of the Belgian-Luxembourg border makes us a strong partner for cross-border business. Likewise, our clients now gain access to PIA’s broader advisory expertise.”
Backed by strong investors
Baltisse, the family office of Belgian entrepreneur Filip Balcaen, welcomed the move. Benjamin Biesmans, Senior Investment Manager at Baltisse, states: “PIA Group is applying a proven model of combining local expertise with international scale. Their approach is ideally suited for consolidating fragmented markets beyond Belgium and the Netherlands.”
Strengthening the leadership team
To support its international ambitions, PIA Group is building a dedicated international leadership structure. As part of this, Arno Schalck joins as Group CIO International, and Joris Dierick steps in as Group CFO.
Schalck, a former Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company with a background in digital strategy and innovation, will drive the acceleration of AI-driven, tech-enabled services across PIA Group.
Dierick, whose career spans leadership roles at Microsoft, TBAuctions, and Your.Cloud, brings extensive experience in financial transformation and operational leadership. His academic credentials include studies at Harvard, INSEAD, and London Business School.
