The French IT group may now go to the Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský.
Recently, a group of companies led by consultancy firm Onepoint presented themselves as investors in Atos, which is struggling to pay off its high debts. The French-Belgian Econocom founder Jean-Louis Bouchard is also part of this group.
But now the consortium has announced that the “circumstances were not ripe for concluding an agreement”.
The Onepoint rescue plan would convert several billion euros in debt into share capital. Atos would also receive a new financial injection in the form of 75 million euros in capital and 1.5 billion euros in new credit.
Atos still expects this to happen, the company itself reports. Atos also still thinks it can reach an agreement with creditors.
Now that the group led by Onepoint is withdrawing, there is a chance that Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský will make a new attempt to acquire Atos. He has indicated that he is interested in this.
