Consultancy and accounting firm Moore Belgium has completed its largest takeover to date by acquiring the Brussels‑Walloon group DNA 33, adding over 200 employees and €27.5 million in revenue. Backed by 55 percent shareholder Waterland Private Equity, Moore Belgium now counts some 2 200 staff members—surpassing KPMG to become the country’s fourth‑largest consultancy by headcount, just behind PwC and a long way from market leader Deloitte.

Since Waterland’s initial investment in 2020, Moore has pursued an aggressive buy‑and‑build strategy, completing 100 acquisitions in total—63 of which occurred in the past five years. DNA 33 itself comprises five specialised entities (Ngage, AsUgo, Darwind, Squareflow and Net Circular), all active in business and technology consulting, digitalisation and strategic advice. The deal nearly doubles Moore’s footprint in French‑speaking Belgium and expands its capabilities in high‑value digital services, growing the team in that segment from 150 to 350 consultants.

Executive Chairman Peter Verschelden (photo) stresses that outpacing the Big Four was never the primary aim; Moore remains focused on serving small and medium‑sized enterprises rather than large corporates. With ambitions to deepen its presence in Luxembourg and Lisbon and to extend its network into France, Scandinavia and the Iberian Peninsula, Moore Belgium expects to maintain double‑digit growth—potentially doubling again within five years.
