Getax Logistics, headquartered in Tessenderlo-Ham, Limburg, has finalized the acquisition of Dutch counterpart QBC The Netherlands, based in Maastricht.
As part of the deal, the combined entity will operate under the new name QBC Logistics.
Ivo Paulussen, founder and director of QBC The Netherlands, will remain on board as both a shareholder and director, ensuring continuity in leadership and strategic vision.
The acquisition marks the culmination of a long-standing partnership between the two companies. What began as an operational collaboration evolved into a strategic alliance, according to Filip Vanderstraeten, CEO of Getax Logistics. “This takeover is a natural progression of a strong relationship built over the years”, Vanderstraeten noted, highlighting the synergy that drove the decision.
QBC Logistics specializes in less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload (FTL), and express freight services across Europe.
The company will continue to expand these operations from its Maastricht base, leveraging Getax’s existing infrastructure and international footprint, including a presence in Tarragona, Spain, and partnerships such as with GVS Logistics.
The acquisition also positions QBC Logistics to meet rising demand for fine-mesh distribution, offering an enhanced service portfolio to clients in the Benelux region and beyond through Getax’s and Getron Logistics’ distribution networks.
This move aligns with Getax Logistics’ Getax 2.0 business plan, fulfilling a third strategic objective following the rejuvenation of its shareholder base and the launch of a new site with Getron Logistics in Nijvel. The acquisition underscores the group’s ambition to grow as an integrated, international logistics player, further solidifying its market position in Europe.
