Belgian publisher Lannoo, based in Tielt, has acquired Ludion, a renowned art publisher from Nazareth-De Pinte.

This strategic move bolsters both companies’ presence in the art book segment, enabling them to collaborate on high-quality publications focused on art, photography, design, and heritage.

Ludion has built a strong reputation for its meticulously designed art and culture books, often developed in close partnership with museums, artists, curators, and cultural institutions. This expertise aligns perfectly with Lannoo’s ambition to expand its offerings in art and museum publications, maintaining a strong emphasis on content quality.

“We have followed Ludion with great interest for years”, says Yrja Danner, CEO of Uitgeverij Lannoo Groep. “Their catalog features books with deep content, sharp editorial vision, and a passion for design. By welcoming Ludion under Peter Ruyffelaere’s leadership, we gain additional strength to pursue ambitious art book projects, including on an international scale.”

Peter Ruyffelaere, Ludion’s founder, notes that while he lacked internal succession, the acquisition ensures the continuation of Ludion’s brand and ambitions. “We’ve made solid agreements to uphold the vision and goals we aim to achieve in the coming years.”
