Belgian sports tech company Runeasi has secured 1 million euros in growth funding to expand its AI-driven movement analysis platform.
The company, a spin-off from KU Leuven, attracted backing from Dutch venture capital firm Smarter Ventures alongside existing investors Freshmen Fund and Gemma Frisius Fund.
US deeptech entrepreneur and former decathlete Sean Gourley also joined the investor base.
Runeasi aims to make professional-grade running and movement analysis broadly accessible. Its platform replaces traditional lab-based testing with wearable sensors and AI technology that converts data into insights and recommendations within minutes.
The solution is already used by physiotherapists, coaches and running specialty stores in more than 40 countries, with over 50,000 analyses completed to date.
Sports footwear brands also deploy the platform to allow runners to test shoes in real-world conditions, while a module launched last year expanded the technology’s use to additional sports.
With the fresh capital, Runeasi plans to accelerate its international growth and further develop its technology, building on renewed support from existing shareholders and its founders.
