Kemetyl expands European footprint with UK acquisition

post-title

Kemetyl, the Belgian market leader in Europe for automotive fluids such as fuel additives and coolants, has acquired Flow Chemicals, a UK-based sector peer.

De Tijd reports this.

While Flow Chemicals is a smaller player with around 20 employees and modest revenue, the acquisition marks a strategic milestone for Kemetyl, adding a fifth production facility to its existing sites in Kampenhout (Belgium), the Netherlands, Sweden, and Spain.

This latest move follows Kemetyl’s 2024 acquisition of its Swedish-Dutch competitor, which transformed the group into Europe’s largest producer of functional automotive fluids.

That deal, finalized on December 6, 2024, also brought two additional production sites under the Kemetyl umbrella and positioned Axel Van Ranst, CEO and shareholder of Jodima Group, as the leader of the expanded entity.

With this UK acquisition, Kemetyl continues to strengthen its pan-European presence, reinforcing its dominance in the automotive fluids market. The group’s growth strategy focuses on expanding its production capacity and consolidating its leadership in the sector.
