John Cockerill Hydrogen has finalized a 116 million euros capital increase to support its strategic development and global expansion plans.
The new funding round reinforces the group’s Belgian roots while strengthening its position in the international green hydrogen sector.
The investment includes continued backing from long-term partners SFPIM, Wallonie Entreprendre, SLB, and Rely (a joint venture between Technip Energies and John Cockerill).
Belgian energy infrastructure company Fluxys has also joined as a new strategic investor, underlining its commitment to building a complete hydrogen value chain.
This capital injection follows a 230 million euros round completed in 2024 and brings the company close to fully funding its current hydrogen initiatives.
John Cockerill Hydrogen is already producing electrolyzers in Belgium and France for major European clients and is working with AM Green in India on the country’s largest green ammonia project.
CEO François Michel highlights the company’s leadership in pressurized alkaline electrolyzer technology, calling it key to the large-scale, low-cost production of green hydrogen. He stated, “This fundraising confirms the strength of our vision and our determination to remain a global leader in clean hydrogen.”
Walloon Economy Minister Pierre-Yves Jeholet praised the move, calling it “a strong signal of Wallonia’s commitment to an ambitious and forward-looking climate transition.”
