Intermat Group acquires VIP Scaffolding following recent Kontrimo deal

post-title

Just two weeks after acquiring Kontrimo from well-known entrepreneur Michel Van den Brande, Belgian construction equipment group Intermat has announced a new acquisition: VIP Scaffolding, a Ghent-based specialist in scaffolding services.

De Tijd reports this.

With this move, Intermat Group further consolidates its position as a key player in the Belgian scaffolding sector. The company, headquartered in Wielsbeke, supports construction and industrial sites with a full range of scaffolding solutions, construction equipment, and logistical services. Its scaffolding operations now include TD-S, Devan, Kontrimo, and VIP Scaffolding.

Intermat’s broader group portfolio also features Intermat (sales and rental of construction equipment), ABM (construction machinery), and LCE (lifts, cranes, and other equipment). The group's expansion is backed by Vybros Capital Partners (VCP), the investment firm linked to the Vande Vyvere business family, which has held a majority stake since late 2024.

This latest acquisition underlines Intermat’s strategic focus on scaling up its scaffolding division and strengthening its market presence through targeted consolidation.
