Groep Cretskens acquires Pludis, accelerating growth in the poultry supply chain

post-title

Groep Cretskens has announced the acquisition of Pludis, a leading family-owned Belgian company specializing in poultry processing and distribution.

Founded in 1954 and currently led by the Schildermans family, Pludis has established itself as a key player in the Belgian and international food sectors, achieving a turnover of 87 million euros in 2025.

The company supplies fresh poultry products daily to retail, foodservice, and industrial clients. This acquisition ensures Pludis’ long-term continuity and creates a strong foundation for further development, with Groep Cretskens committed to driving growth, efficiency, and market position alongside the existing team.

Eloy Schildermans will remain CEO of Pludis and retain an ownership stake, underscoring his continued commitment to the company’s future. The integration aligns with Groep Cretskens’ broader strategy to strengthen its position in the poultry supply chain.

By expanding its activities and fostering collaboration, the group aims to achieve additional economies of scale and enhance its operational impact. Pludis’ state-of-the-art, fully automated production facility in Bree, inaugurated in 2024, supports a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation throughout the entire chain—from breeder to end customer.

This partnership combines the strengths of both companies, laying the groundwork for sustainable, future-oriented growth in the food sector while preserving entrepreneurial spirit and family values. Groep Cretskens, already active in various segments of the food chain, including bakery and retail, further solidifies its integrated position in the poultry sector with this acquisition.
