Gimv to discontinue new Life Sciences investments as it sharpens strategic focus

post-title

Belgian investment company Gimv has announced a strategic refocus on its core investment platforms, discontinuing new investments in Life Sciences while strengthening its emphasis on Anchor, Consumer, Healthcare, Smart Industries and Sustainable Cities.

The decision reflects Gimv’s ambition to concentrate capital and value creation efforts on sectors benefiting from long-term growth trends and digital transformation.

The existing Life Sciences portfolio, comprising 11 companies and representing approximately 5 percent of Gimv’s total portfolio value, will be retained and actively managed with the aim of maximising value, in close consultation with portfolio companies and syndicate partners.

As part of the strategic realignment, the composition of Gimv’s executive committee will be reviewed, and discussions will be initiated with members of the Life Sciences investment team.

Gimv has been an active investor in the Flemish and European Life Sciences sector for more than four decades. The company expressed its appreciation to all stakeholders who have contributed to the development of this platform over the past 45 years.

Gimv will publish its results for the shortened 2025 financial year (nine months) on 19 February.
