Belgian investment firm Gimv has announced a strategic partnership with Germany-based Ambulantis Group, a rapidly growing care provider specializing in outpatient care, assisted living, and day care services.

Ambulantis currently employs over 500 staff and operates in six cities across northern and eastern Germany. The investment aims to support the company’s ongoing growth, with founders and managing directors Dr. Stefan Buchkremer, Richard Simm, and Dr. Matthias Weber retaining significant ownership and continuing in their leadership roles.

Founded with the mission to help individuals in need of care maintain independence in their own homes or shared living communities, Ambulantis emphasizes personalized care, privacy, and social engagement. The organization is also known for its employee-centered culture and high staff satisfaction.

Gimv sees the partnership as a way to expand Ambulantis’ footprint in Germany. “Ambulantis offers a proven, scalable model that meets the needs of patients and caregivers alike”, say Philipp v. Hammerstein and Lars Timmer, healthcare specialists at Gimv’s Munich office. “We look forward to supporting their vision of becoming a leading provider in the assisted living space.”

The deal, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in the coming weeks.
