Private equity firm Gimv has acquired a majority stake in Novicare, a Dutch provider of specialized medical and paramedical services to elderly care and disability institutions. The shares are sold by Gilde Healthcare. The transaction remains subject to customary approvals, including works council clearance.
Founded in 2008, Novicare now employs around 250 professionals, serving over 70 institutions and 4,500 patients. The company stands out for its use of digital tools, telecare, and a stepped care model that enhances efficiency and collaboration with local partners.
Gimv will support Novicare’s management team, which will remain in place, in further investing in people and digital solutions to strengthen a resilient and sustainable Dutch healthcare system. According to CEO Jet Wiechers and Deputy CEO Wencke van der Meijden, Gimv is the ideal partner to help Novicare continue its focus on innovation and quality.
