Private equity firm Gimv has acquired a majority stake in Alpine, a leading Dutch provider of premium consumer hearing protection solutions.
The investment, made alongside Alpine’s management team, aims to accelerate the company’s international growth and strengthen its position in the global market for passive hearing protection.
Founded in 1994 and operating in over 65 countries, Alpine offers a wide range of high-quality earplugs and earmuffs designed for consumer use. Known for its reusable, eco-conscious products, the company recently achieved B-Corp certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.
Gimv’s investment comes as the hearing protection market experiences rapid growth, driven by increased health awareness and demand for sustainable alternatives to disposable products. With strong margins and a multi-channel strategy encompassing retail, events, and e-commerce, Alpine is seen as well-positioned to lead this market shift.
“We are very excited to partner with the Alpine team and support their mission”, says Patrick Franken and Jelle Assink of Gimv. “As the world grows louder, protecting hearing is more important than ever.”
Arthur van Keeken, CEO of Alpine, welcomes the new partnership, stating: “With Gimv by our side, we are confident we can further accelerate our growth and mission.”
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is subject to a works council advisory procedure.
