Fortino Capital closes 700 million euros third private equity fund

post-title

Fortino Capital has completed the final closing of its third private equity fund, Fortino PE III, at 700 million euros, exceeding its initial 600 million euros target.

The fund is more than 85 percent larger than its predecessor, underscoring strong investor appetite for the firm’s B2B software strategy.

Although Fortino Capital only entered the Dutch market a few years ago, the opening of its Amsterdam office in 2022 has helped cement its position in the European private equity landscape. The local team now counts more than 10 professionals and continues to expand the firm’s footprint in the Benelux and Germany.

The fundraising attracted a broad mix of new and existing institutional investors from Europe and North America, including banks, pension funds, consultants, university endowments, family offices and public-sector investors.

According to Fortino, the oversubscribed fund reflects confidence in its buy-and-build approach and focus on mission-critical B2B software.

Fortino PE III will continue to target European software companies, with a particular emphasis on the Benelux and DACH regions. The final closing follows an active 2025, during which Fortino completed five new platform investments and participated in a significant growth capital round in Cenosco, led by Summit Partners. That transaction delivered a strong return for investors in Fortino PE I.

The new fund has already deployed capital into 3 platform companies: Modell Aachen (interactive management systems), Seenons (digital solutions for circular waste management) and MEHRWERK (process intelligence software).

Fortino Capital now manages 6 funds across private equity and venture capital, with more than 1.5 billion euros raised to date, 76 investments and 28 exits. Its Belgian track record includes investments in InTouch, VanRoey, Bizzmine, MobileXpense, Efficy CRM and Stardekk.

Alongside private equity, Fortino Ventures is still raising its third venture fund, Fortino Venture III, which has secured around 80 million euros in commitments so far and focuses on Seed to Series A B2B SaaS and AI companies. A final closing is expected in 2026.
