FINN and Gosselin & de Walque Merge to create Belgian strategic communications leader

post-title

The Belgian communications landscape is seeing further consolidation with the merger of FINN and Gosselin & de Walque, two established players in strategic communications and public affairs.

The deal brings together roughly 55 consultants across Flanders, Brussels, and Wallonia, strengthening their position as a full-service communications and public affairs advisory firm.

The merger is backed by Only Creative Entrepreneurs, which is acquiring 100 percent of Gosselin & de Walque. Founders Ermeline Gosselin and Guillaume de Walque will become minority shareholders in Only’s holding structure while continuing as managing partners, alongside FINN’s Kristien Vermoesen and Raf Weverbergh.

The four founders describe the move as a “natural next step”, citing shared values and complementary expertise. While FINN has built a reputation over nearly 20 years with around 40 strategists and creatives, Gosselin & de Walque – founded five years ago – has rapidly established itself with a 15-strong team focused on corporate and political communication.

“This merger strengthens what we have always stood for: demanding, relevant and dedicated strategic consultancy that puts clients first”, the founders said in a joint statement.

Backed by Only Group
The transaction is facilitated by Only, a fast-growing European communications group with more than 600 employees, including 300 in Belgium across agencies such as com&co, Happiness and Tomorrow. Only emphasizes operational autonomy for its partner agencies, allowing the founders to maintain their entrepreneurial culture while benefiting from the scale of a larger group.

“FINN and Gosselin & de Walque are inspiring success stories”, says Frans de Vries, founder and CEO of Only. “Their merger fits perfectly with our vision of bringing together entrepreneurial agencies that excel in their fields.”

Strategic market position
With their combined footprint, the new entity is positioned as a leading independent Belgian player offering corporate communications, public affairs, crisis management, marketing and digital strategy. Their client base ranges from large corporates such as AB InBev, Vandersanden and La Lorraine Bakery Group, to institutions like the European Investment Bank and fast-growing tech companies including Showpad and Teamleader.

The merger underscores a trend in the Belgian consultancy market where scale, multidisciplinary expertise and European reach are becoming increasingly important to serve complex corporate and institutional clients.
