The funding round of the tech company was oversubscribed.
The start-up Firsty has raised 5.1 million euros. The company, founded earlier this year by two former engineers from the payment company Adyen, has now raised a total of 6.2 million euros in two funding rounds this year.
The Dutch-Belgian duo has developed an app for mobile data connections abroad, even outside the EU, at reasonable rates. The app is available in 150 countries and currently serves 400,000 customers.
The latest funding round was led by Austrian venture capital firm Speedinvest. Other participants include Dutch Founders Fund, Booking.com, Uber, Vodafone, Adyen, and Marcel Smits (former CFO of KPN). It remains unknown how large a stake the two founders hold in Firsty.
